  1. These are fantastic!
Gotta love Mr Holdren's coffee pot next to the students' work.

So much time and effort has been put into these. Great work teachers!

    1. Oh yes! Great find! I bet we'd find coffee pots in a lot of these classrooms... where they are allowed. And maybe some contraband ones:) Teachers run on coffee!

For those that have their word walls on poster board -- Do you use tape or glue to attach the word wall to the poster board? Also, do you add ALL of the words to your classroom at once or do you add them as you begin a new unit? If you add them when starting a new unit, do you remove the older ones once you feel the students have mastered the content?

    1. Different teachers have different ideas about how many word wall references to display at a time. For me, I liked having everything up at once. Other teachers, because of space concerns or just preference, choose to display only bits at a time. I am not sure how teachers who sent the photos in this post attached the pieces to the poster board, but in my classroom I had used that blue tacky putty and it worked pretty well to stick the pieces to our bulletin board.

Thanks to everyone who sent pictures, this inspires me for the new year. I have traditionally put up new words and concepts as I’ve introduced them but I love hearing other opinions about that.

  5. Order of Operations - as a vet I share my love of following orders as Ord Ops (Ordinances - a synonym for Rules & Ops - Operations as in practice war games). This got shortened to OoOps which reads, "Oh, oh, Ops or OoOps (a mistake?!)" as in folow your orders and you wouldn't make mistakes.
