When I taught algebra 2, my students struggled with factoring because they had never learned all of their their multiplication facts. This lead to a lot of self-doubt and thinking that they couldn't do algebra, when really it was the multiplication getting in the way.
"What 2 Numbers?" is a set of 132 cards that cover multiplication facts 1-16. Each card presents multiplication as a puzzle: "What 2 numbers multiply to X that add to Y?" All numbers and answers are positive.
The cards can be given to students as daily warm-ups, closers, partner challenges, or snuck into your curriculum wherever there's a little room to practice multiplication. You can even use the cards as extra practice during your factoring unit. The problems are all presented as puzzles to solve, so students won't even know they're being given extra multiplication practice! Includes answer key.
