
Our planet is pretty awesome. Did you know that at this very moment we are speeding through space 15 times faster than the fastest jet ever made? Or that there are trees on Earth that are more than 5,000 year old?
The edge of the pin reads "Earth Week Comm of Phila" so it seems Earth Day may have been a whole week back then. When I was a kid, we'd go down to a local park to get a free tree each Earth Day.

All word problems can be solved with addition, subtraction, multiplication or division and make a nice brain break even for older kids. If you'd rather not make an Earth Day display with student work, a Google Forms version is also included.
This year, I made an Earth Day logic picture puzzle escape room as a fun math activity to celebrate Earth Day.
Students work through 5 puzzles solving for the values of Earth-themes pictures. There's a low-prep printable version with a graphic organizer to keep track of the pictures' values...
...and a self-checking, no-prep version in Google Forms. Students must get each puzzle correct to move to the next puzzle.
